Mandatory leashing for dogs

Dogs must be kept on a leash in the following places:

  • on the campsite,
  • near schools,
  • in public playgrounds,
  • on/at sports fields,
  • in railway stations and on public transport
  • and when entering agricultural land.

Anywhere else, dogs can run free as long as you can control and call them back at any time. If you notice that a leashed dog is approaching, we ask you to keep your dog on a leash as well.

Please be considerate of joggers, walkers and children on your way and call your dog back in time. This is highly appreciated by everyone.

Forests and wild animals

In our forests there is a great variety of wild animals, so you are required to keep your dog under control at all times. Dogs with a pronounced hunting instinct or those that are difficult to retrieve must be kept on a leash.

From April to June (mating season) dogs must be kept on a leash and must not leave the trail.

Excrement bag »Robidog«

Throughout the region you will be provided with excrement bags free of charge - most of the time even already at your campsite. You will find them attached to the side of the green disposal bins. Please dispose of the leftovers in these bags and bins.

Hiking with dog

Dogs are allowed on the Jungfrau Railway lines free of charge. On the ferry and federal railway lines, it is necessary to buy a half-fare card for the dog, but don't forget to take enough water with you, as it can get hot on summer days. Please never leave your dog in a parked car.
