Campsite rules

Consideration is key: to ensure harmonious coexistence at the campsite, it is important to observe the applicable campsite rules. These ensure respectful behaviour and pleasant coexistence – for you and all other guests. The most common rules are listed below:

Quiet hours: Please be considerate between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Quiet hours begin at 10 p.m. on campsites – this is regulated by law and not a rule made up by your host. During this time, please avoid loud music, loud conversations and party lighting. Many sites also close the access road in the evening with a barrier – plan your return accordingly.

If you are an early riser, please also avoid making noise in the morning when using the sanitary facilities or having breakfast.

Respect privacy

Keep your tent, camper and equipment on your own plot. Avoid walking across other plots – however, a friendly hello is always welcome.

Order & cleanliness

Please keep the area clean – separate your rubbish and dispose of it in the designated bins. Do not leave any food lying around – it attracts wild animals. Cooking water and food scraps do not belong on the lawn either, as they cause stains and unpleasant odours. Please leave the sanitary facilities and common areas as you would like to find them yourself.

Safety when you're away

When you go on a trip, secure loose items such as chairs, crockery or clothes lines. In the event of a sudden change in the weather, they could pose a danger to other campers.

Supervise children

For safety reasons, never leave your children unattended on the playground, at the pool or in the sanitary facilities.

Be considerate when showering

Please keep your showers short and sweet – not only for the sake of the environment, but also to save other guests unnecessary waiting times.

Protect your valuables

You are responsible for your personal belongings. Do not leave any valuables unattended to avoid unnecessary hassle in the event of loss or theft.

Barbecues & fire pits

Before firing up the barbecue or fire pit, check with your host about the current local regulations. Open fires are not always permitted – especially in strong winds (such as the notorious Föhn wind), they can quickly become dangerous. Use the barbecue facilities provided and observe any restrictions.

Departure

When you check out, please leave your pitch clean and don't leave any rubbish or your camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, etc.) behind. Take your gear home with you to help keep things sustainable and make sure it gets disposed of properly. Stick to the agreed check-out times and let your host know in advance if you're going to be late.

Dispose of waste in an environmentally friendly manner

Please ensure that you dispose of waste correctly: rubbish, grey water and toilet chemicals must be disposed of at the designated disposal points. Do not simply empty fresh or waste water onto your pitch – this not only damages the ground, but also spoils the camping experience for those who come after you.

Do not drive to a campsite to dispose of rubbish and waste water or to fill up with water. Campsites are not public service stations, but privately run businesses that are committed to providing their guests with service, cleanliness and safety. Use of the infrastructure is reserved for guests of the campsite.

Fresh from the tap: top-quality drinking water

You can drink tap water without hesitation in the Bernese Oberland. Instead of buying PET bottles, use a reusable bottle and fill it up for free – good for your wallet and the environment.
